Welcome to Wilson Driver Training |
|
The sense of independence that having a driving licence can give you is fantastic – well worth the effort involved in getting it. But you do need to be prepared to put that effort in first. Driving on today’s roads isn’t something that should be taken lightly. To do it well, and safely, requires good car-handling skills together with a constant focus on the driving environment, watching for potential and actual hazards - and having the ability to respond to them in good time. It requires knowledge of the rules of the road, signs and markings and a responsible attitude towards responding to them so as to keep yourself and other road users moving safely. You’ll often hear it said that you don’t really learn to drive until you’ve passed your test. That’s far less true today than it’s ever been. It’s true that you’ll certainly experience, and learn, a whole lot more once you’re driving independently and more often. But there’s a lot to learn first so that not only can you take the test with a reasonable expectation of passing, but also you can feel confident that you’ve passed because you are, in fact, ready to start driving independently. Never before has so much thought and effort (by the Government and other organisations) gone into trying to make driver training more comprehensive and effective. And in the next few months and years more changes are to be consulted on and implemented in order to try to improve both the national pass rate (currently around 47%) and road accident statistics – especially those relating to inexperienced (and, therefore, often young) drivers. Please use the links on the left to find out more about how I can help you learn what you need in order to be successful in your test - and beyond. If you have questions or concerns that aren’t covered here, you can get in touch via my contact page. |
